The library media center is located at the Golden Arrows intersection of the Lavaca Middle School hallways. A collection of books, periodicals, and media materials are constantly being selected to meet the curricular needs and interests of our students and faculty. A majority of the books contain documentation of the Lexile level ( A large portion of the books contain documentation of the Accelerated Reader levels and corresponding quizzes. All grade levels in the middle school incorporate Accelerated Reader.

The center is fully automated with 13 computers available for student use. These computers have access to an electronic card catalog which helps patrons identify and locate resources. Circulation Information

Circulation Information The books are arranged by the Dewey Decimal System

Books may be checked out for two weeks and may be renewed for an time if needed.
Periodicals, newspapers, and reference materials may not be check out, but may be used in the library media center.

Overdue fines are $.05 per each school day.

Parent Resource Center

The Parent Resource Center is located in the media center. Videos, brochures, pamphlets, and media center books are available to help meet the many needs of parents and their students. Also available is a list of websites along with Internet access for help with many different areas. Parents may visit the Parent Resource Center any time during the school day. To visit after hours, please contact the school office to make an appointment.
